Chorale warmup

Keyboard chorale warmup, based on Salvation is Created, by Pavel Tschesnokoff.

This warmup is designed to serve the same purpose for keyboards as the standard eights warmup for battery. Using a chorale as a source keeps the players' (and instructors') interest far better than chromatic warmups such as 6-3-2-1. Odd meters and dynamic changes provide opportunity to incorporate more advanced musicality into even the most basic warmup without providing undue difficulty. Time signatures are designed such that the final note is on a downbeat when used with a metronome that ticks only straight quarter notes.

Suggestions: play at all tempos and dynamic levels, use written dynamics to practice smooth crescendos and diminuendos. While all four voices can be played by the same player, it is a better warmup to divide the players between the upper and lower keyboard parts.
